Cardi B turned 34 on October 11, and instead of waiting on someone else to show up with a gift, she bought her own. The headline piece is a pink "Barbie" Rolex Cosmograph Daytona that's reportedly worth about $2.85 million.
She showed the watch off in a video on October 22. Jeweler Eric Mavani, who sourced it for her, estimates there are only around 10 of these in the world.
What makes this Daytona different
This isn't the Daytona you see at the mall. It has an 18k yellow gold case, a bezel lined with 36 pink sapphires, diamond hour markers and a pink alligator strap. Watches like this almost never sit in a store window. They move privately, dealer to client, which is a big part of why the price climbs into the millions.
The ring
The watch wasn't the only thing she picked up. Cardi also added a custom 7-carat natural marquise-cut diamond ring from Pristine Jewelers, plus a pink Hermès Mini Kelly bag. By her own count, her birthday self-gifts came to around $4 million.
A big month all around
The timing lines up with a career moment too. Cardi is set to receive Billboard Canada's first-ever Global Woman of the Year award in November.
